🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Users Voice Anger Over Size Modifications Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. This online marketplace has updated its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all users about the change. Digital Channels Response Many shoppers and sellers are posting online stating that platform listings now display a different size category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Sizing System Changes Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Stories One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: previously, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
